World of Possibilities

The purpose of Cabin Activities is to promote cabin unity as you challenge yourself and participate in an imaginative new activity that you might not be able to do anywhere else outside of camp.  Anything you can imagine, you can bring to life at Camp Augusta, and Cabin Activities are the time to do that.

In this page, we encourage you to play, to explore, to get inspired, and to imagine up some creative new adventures that you might want to create when you come to camp!

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”

– John A. Shedd

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.”

Dr. Seuss

“We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing!”

George Bernard Shaw

“Play is our brain’s favorite way of learning.”

Diane Ackerman

“Almost all creativity involves purposeful play.”

Abraham Maslow

“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.”

“If you want creative workers, give them enough time to play.”

John Cleese
