We primarily make small pieces, often called “Sun Catchers.” Campers create a pattern by which to cut their colored glass pieces. Once the pieces are cut, they finish them by grinding down the edges to assure a nice, smooth assembly. Each glass piece is then lined with a copper foil tape, which aids the joining of the pieces with solder.
Stained glass is not accomplished quickly, but often worthwhile things are not. Campers spend 3 – 6 clinic periods (hours) creating their works of art, depending on the complexity of the design.
