Ever wanted to spin, hang from your knees and do crazy tricks? Yes – Try lyra!

Lyra is also known as aerial hoop and is another circus art we have added to our repertoire here at Camp Augusta. It is a metal hoop suspended from the ceiling on a swivel, about 4 feet off the ground. There are multiple tricks you can do both alone or with a partner. Because the hoop is solid, lyra can be less physically draining than aerial silks though involves similar muscles and movements. For campers that hone their skills, there is an opportunity to perform at the closing campfire!
