Hello! My name’s Murphy, I’m 19 (Until June), and this will be my first year at Camp Augusta! I grew up in North Carolina in a big ol’ family (who I love very much), and I’m currently in college in Massachusetts (I’m studying to be a Blacksmith!) I’m a history nerd, a martial artist, and a maker of things. I’m so stoked to meet you this summer!
Some quick facts about me!
- I’ve worked at renaissance fairs, a NASCAR fabrication shop, and a summer camp!
- I started my blacksmithing journey at age 14 (I built a forge out of a sink and some plumbing parts)
- I play bass guitar, and I made two of them
- I have a tattoo of two ravens on my leg! Ask me what it means…
- I’ve never made a sword. I’ve tried three times, and all of them broke.
