Dive into the art and science of soap making, where oils, lye, and fragrances come together in a delightful alchemy! Camp Augusta soap is made of water, lye, olive oil, coconut oil, and essential oils. With the facilitator, campers help to mix the ingredients and learn about the process of saponification. This magical reaction transforms the ingredients into silky-smooth bars waiting to be molded. Campers choose herbs or flowers to sprinkle in and pour the mixture into molds. At the end of the session, campers take home their very own Augusta soap (fully cured and ready to be used 6 weeks after setting).
