Hi, my name is Molly! I am beyond excited to be a part of the Camp Augusta family!
First off, let’s start with the good stuff- I’m ecstatic to meet you and bond and make memories and have amazing adventures and live life to the fullest, TOGETHER!
Some Info About Me:
1.) I hail from a small town in Massachusetts.
2.) Having outdoor summers with my family and friends sparked my interested in nature, and since then, I have become extremely addicted to the outdoors. I absolutely infatuated with anything that’s outside. More specifically things like surfing, skiing, skinning, snowboarding, zip lining, paragliding, skim boarding, knee boarding, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, and basically anything that allows you to be outside- count me in!
3.) I’m also a total drama nerd, though I hid in the background doing mostly technical theater and working sound and lighting for the productions I was a part of.
4.) I’ve played soccer competitively for my entire life, and it’s one of the only sports I watch and get really into.
5.) Being outside is something that feeds my soul and provides me with a certain level of tranquility and ease that I can’t seem to find anywhere else, and allows me to connect to earth and people around me. This past year I have finally decided to live out my dream and section hike large parts of the AT sporadically throughout the year (wish I could do it all at once but unfortunately, school beckons me!) along with chipping away at the Long Trail in Vermont, where I attend University studying environmental issues and sustainable agriculture and community development.
6.) I’ve always considered myself a generalized wackadoo and absolutely love any and all things crazy!
7.) I also LOVE arts and crafts, storytelling, reading, writing, photography, and anything creative! For my senior project in high school, I wrote a book. My dream job is to work for National geographic traveling around the world being a photojournalist. hearing stories, and learning about different cultures.
8.) Last summer I spent my time up in this neck of the woods at an organic farm in Sonoma county, working every day with a lovely couple named Chris and Lori as well as a past green baret- turned farmer Les. Hauling manure and watching seedlings I planted sprout and grow was a sort of magic that I had never experienced before. 🙂
9.) I absolutely love traveling, and my family, the quirky people they are, seemed to have a strong vendetta against planes. As a result, we took a car to almost wherever we were going any chance we could. This lead to a lot of road trips, trips across the country, and spontaneous exploring.
10.) My goal as soon as university ends, is to buy a one way ticket to Europe and backpack around for a while. A little soul searching never hurt nobody
11.) I could live anywhere in the world it would be Portugal- it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited on my travels and the sandy beaches and historic small towns enchant and entrance me!
12.) I have a weird addiction to apples…. I eat at least two apples in a day and you will see me this summer at any spare moment eating an apple.
13.) Some of my favorite bands of all time are catfish and the bottlemen, jimi hendrix, the beatles, allah-las, the babe rainbow, and basically anything funkadelic/surf rock (though I will listen to almost anything).
13.) My biggest goal in life is to live life to the fullest!
