I’m James (but everyone calls me Koopa), and I am thrilled to say it will be first year at Camp Augusta as a counselor!
I’m 22 years old, and was meant to be out there at Augusta last year, but was unable to make it. That only means one thing… this year I’ve got to make it up by having double the fun and making double the memories!!!
I am incredibly excited to spend my time with you campers, helping your dreams and ideas come to fruition, whether this be through: playing, crafting, running, swimming, climbing, swinging, shooting, crafting, building, planning, meandering, exploring, adventuring, or any other number of ways!
I’m an AMAZING listener (I think), so feel free to run up to me and spill your heart out of ideas, emotions, thoughts, or anything on your mind at all.
I cannot wait for this summer to start, and help make it one you’ll never forget!
Since I’ve said I’m 22, here at 22 things about me:
5. I recently graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in history
6. My two biggest dreams in life are to visit Palau (country in the middle of the Pacific) and drive a tank (just so cool)
7. My hair changes like the wind. One day it will be down to my shoulders, and the next there will be none whatsoever
8. I am currently writing my own book, although I have no clue if I will ever finish it
9. Despite the fact I view myself as an encyclopaedia of random knowledge, I much prefer to listen to other people and learn their experiences/knowledge : )
10. I was harnessed down from a rollercoaster a years ago and haven’t been back on that ride since
11. Favourite film: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Favourite series: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Favourite book: The Count of Monte Cristo (Alexandre Dumas) OR The History of the Wars (Procopius)
12. I have backpacked across 18 countries (so far)
13. I think space is like the coolest thing ever, alongside dinosaurs
14. I still don’t know how to tie a tie, and I fear I’m too old to ask now
15. Favourite place I’ve been; Istanbul. It’s PERFECT
16. I love to play golf and go to the gym on days off, but I am incredibly average at both.
17. You may have noticed but most of the photos attached are not taken by me. I dropped my phone in the sea in Greece last year and lost basically every photo ever. I still think about it
18. I can reel (Scottish dancing). I don’t even know how I came to learn this
19. My mantra is “May the bridges I burn light the way”
20. I don’t have a big family, so I place many of my friends on the same level as my family 🙂
21. My favourite word BY FAR is Agathokakological. Google it 🙂
22. My sole motivation in life is to keep moving forwards no matter what. This is what fuels the fire inside me
