Hello friends. It’s me, Ko – Ko Narter for short. I’m beyond excited for my second summer as a counselor in the wonderful woods of Camp Augusta! This summer I can’t wait to zip through some trees, perform at campfires, pick up new skills (maybe stilt walking?), make new friends, deepen connections, and laugh, play, and sing with all of you!

I grew up in the Bay Area where I developed my passion for performing arts and love for nature. I spent my days doing all forms of performance – dance, theater, choir, my middle school band (the Bystanders) and writing and performing original songs. I was also once a Camp Augusta camper myself, completing the lost Tower of Terror and getting the Chicken Wrangling level bracelet. Growing up, camp was my favorite part of the whole year, and seeing as this is my 12th summer at Augusta, I don’t think much has changed.

A smiling person wearing a white cap, purple sweater with pink patterns, and black face paint sits outdoors, looking at the camera. The background is blurred with trees and other people.
Four people, including three children and one adult, stand outdoors on a sunlit path with a saddled tan horse. Trees and greenery surround them. The group appears relaxed and happy.
Two young women pose playfully by a green pillar with a Lorimer Street subway sign on a subway platform, while two people walk in the background.
Four people wearing sandals and jeans sit with their legs outstretched on a hilltop, overlooking a cityscape under a clear blue sky. One person points at their foot.
A group of smiling people stand closely together indoors under exposed wooden beams, some raising their hands and appearing cheerful.

When I’m not at camp, I live in New York City, where I study Recorded Music at New York University. I spend my days learning how to operate fancy recording equipment, honing my songwriting skills, and collaborating with some of my best friends on as much music as I can possibly make. In my free time I sing in an a cappella group, write original music, hangout with my sister, and search for pockets of nature and adventure in the city. Something I love about New York is it is so easy to explore alone, so I can hop on the subway and have access to so much in the city.

Two people wearing helmets and harnesses stand on a small wooden platform high up a tree, surrounded by ropes and forest, preparing for a zip line or ropes course adventure.
A person with dark hair stands indoors, speaking or singing into a microphone. They gesture with their hands and wear a dark jacket over a red shirt. The background features wooden paneling and a partially open door.
Five young hikers with backpacks and hats stand close together, smiling, on a sunlit trail surrounded by greenery and trees in the background.
Two people sit indoors playing string instruments; one plays an acoustic guitar and smiles, while the other sits on a green chair playing a ukulele. The room has soft natural lighting and a relaxed atmosphere.

There’s a brief little introduction to my life, with some pictures of my face and other faces, and I can’t wait to learn all about all the faces, new and old, that will be with me in the woods of Augusta this summer.
