Transportation

Buses, Cars, and Planes, oh my!

Campers can either arrive by private vehicle, by plane, or by Camp Augusta chartered buses.

Please confirm that you have read this document by digitally signing the Parent Packet Signatures form.
You will also be asked the name of the person picking up your child at the bus stop or at camp (if traveling by personal vehicle).

We reserve the right to cancel our buses if the circumstance arises.

There is an $85 fee, each way, for the bus service. Reservations are required in advance so the appropriate number of buses can be booked. Please note that we cannot offer a refund for the bus with less than 10 days notice.

If you choose to add the bus TO or FROM Camp after June 1st you will be required to pay by credit card at that time.

Please…

  • Bring a completed Medical Update Form (we will email this to you one week before your session)
  • Have any/ALL medications stored in their ORIGINAL CONTAINERS inside a ZIPLOCK bag labeled with your camper’s name and cabin.
  • MAIL in or pay online STORE money in advance.(Lazy Dog costs are now included in registration fees BTW)!

Bus: Piedmont → Camp Augusta

Departure (Piedmont): Sunday at noon SHARP!
Arrival (Camp): 3pm

Session 2: June 14
Session 3: June 21

  • The bus leaves Piedmont for camp at 12:00 pm sharp. Please arrive with your camper by 10:45.
  • The bus ride is approximately 3 hours long.
  • Parents who miss the bus will be responsible for transporting their camper to camp.
  • Please have your camper EAT LUNCH BEFORE getting on the bus.  You might consider bringing a lunch to eat while checking in and waiting for the bus to leave. A full waterbottle is recommended for the ride to Camp.
  • Please make sure your camper uses the bathroom before boarding the bus.
  • All forms and payment must be received before arrival.
  • Please send your store money in advance (either by mail or pay online) and arrive with a completed “Medical Update Form” to help speed the process up.

    If families arrive after 11:30, we cannot guarantee there will be enough time to check in, load luggage and board the bus. The bus starts departure procedures (instructions to campers on board the bus at 11:50.

Bus: Camp Augusta →  Piedmont

Departure (Camp): Saturday at 9am
Arrival (Piedmont): 12:00 noon

  • The bus leaves Camp for Piedmont at 9 am.
  • Expected arrival in Piedmont is at 12:00 pm depending on traffic.  If your campers are on the bus you will receive an email with a GPS tracker after the bus leaves Camp so you can see where it is in real time.
  • When you complete your online forms you will be asked if you want your campers to be let off the bus without a signature or if you want the person picking up your camper to check in and sign them out. When the bus arrives, all campers without a required signature will be let off the bus first and then campers who need to be signed out will be released one at a time to the adult designated on the transportation form.
  • As the campers get off the bus you will be asked to sign your name, confirming you picked them up. The name of the person picking up your child must match the name on the online form.  Please call us if the name changes after the form as been submitted.
  • If applicable, store money refunds and medications will be given to your camper prior to them getting off the bus.  Please confirm that they have these before leaving the bus area.  If they do not and they should, please check in with one of the Camp Augusta staff.

Medications – Paperwork – Bathroom

On Sunday when you are dropping off your camper(s), please have any medication (in ORIGINAL containers) in a Ziploc bag with your campers name and cabin written on it ready to turn in to camp staff. Make sure all of your paperwork has been turned in, including the “Medical Update Form” that is required to be submitted at check in.

Please have your camper go to the bathroom prior to boarding the bus. There will be a bathroom on the bus; however, these bathrooms aren’t always the most enjoyable.

Bus Rules

To provide a safe and enjoyable bus trip for ALL, please review the following rules with your camper…

  • All campers must stay on the door side of the bus during loading & unloading.
  • All campers must remain seated and facing forward at all times
  • The noise level should not exceed the comfort level of the bus driver.
  • No electronics (phones, tablets, etc.), food, or candy will be allowed.

Car – Private Vehicle Transportation

Campers coming to camp by car should arrive at camp between 2 and 3:00 pm on the first day of the session (Sunday).

  • Arrival – Please do not arrive before 2:00 pm as our staff will be in a meeting and unable to greet you.
  • Departure – Campers should be picked up between 8:15-8:45 am on the final day of the session (Saturday).

Plane Transportation/Airport pick-up

Airport pick-ups are available from Sacramento airport on the first and last day of each Resident Camp session. There is an $85 fee, each way, for this service. Campers arriving by plane will be picked up by a smiling Camp Augusta staff member.

Campers can arrive at Sacramento Airport on flights that land between 12-1:30pm, on the first day of camp (Sunday) and depart from Sacramento Airport on flights departing between 11:00am-12:30 pm on their last day of camp (Saturday). Please heed these times when booking; it makes for a MUCH easier pick-up/drop-off process for camp staff and campers.
