My name is Luis López, I’m 23 years old, and I’m from Spain. Throughout my life, I’ve been called many things: “Luisito,” “Luisillo,” “Luisín,” “Lewis,” and a few more I’ll forget. I prefer to be called by my first name, but I don’t mind being called any of the above, as they’re fun and not malicious.
As I’ve said before, I’m 23 years old, and this year will be my first time at Camp Augusta as a Camp Counselor, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin this incredible experience.
Since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, so I’m studying for it at university. I’m the oldest brother, and the oldest of my cousins, so I’ve always loved and have cared for children younger than me. I’ve always thought that being a teacher should be, by necessity, a vocation, since I, for one, love working with children.
I’ll soon be finishing university, and I haven’t decided yet whether I’ll continue studying or start working, but what I do know is that I’ll stay connected with children and the world of childhood, and what better way to do that than by working at Camp Augusta this summer.
I’m a sports enthusiast. I enjoy almost all sports and have played many. I also really enjoy music, reading, and watching movies and series.
One of my favorite things to do is disconnect from my phones and screens and go hiking in the mountains or to the beach with my family or friends.
I love working at this camp because I see it as a learning and personal development experience, as well as a fun one. I hope the children learn things from me, and I also learn things from them. I believe I have a special connection with children, and this allows me to understand them and help them develop.
I hope and trust that this summer at camp will be an incredible experience where we will all learn and develop many skills together, while having fun and creating very special relationships.
And to finish I leave you a riddle: What belongs to you but others use it more than you do?
I hope you know me a little better now, and I look forward to seeing you at camp this summer.
Sincerely,
Luis
