Jack

‘Ay up duck! I’m Jack!

You thought you’d seen the last of me? Think again!

I’m back for my second summer at Camp Augusta. I got a taste for it last year and now I’m back!

I’m from Derby, a city in the middle of England, and this summer I’ll be exactly 8240km, or 5120 miles from home (thats a looooong way!). I love football (soccer), and I’m a big fan of Derby County. Even though I’m no good, I’ll never say no to a kickabout!

My house may be in Derby, but I’m truly at home when I’m hiking, camping, or climbing mountains. Whether its soaking in the view, breathing in the fresh air, or falling over in rivers (twice and counting), I love nature! I have a degree in environmental sciences and I’m really passionate about protecting the planet. I’m really excited to spend another summer in the wood chips sharing my passion for the outdoors with you all!

I love to play guitar! I’ve played since I was 9, and from the moment I first picked up a guitar, I’ve struggled to put one down! Any chance I get, you’ll find me strumming a tune. I love to play folk, metal, and everything in between!

This is my dog, Betty, who I love taking on long walks. I’ve left her in charge at home to make sure everything runs smoothly while I’m gone.

Quickfire round!
Favourite food: Saag aloo (for those that don’t know, that’s a spicy spinach and potato curry. Delicious!)
Favourite drink: Orange juice
Favourite colour: Purple
Favourite animal: Highland cow
Favourite place I have been: Yr Wyddfa (the tallest mountain in Wales, and the tallest mountain I’ve climbed!)
Secret talent: Losing my water bottle
Most likely to be found: In the shade avoiding sunburn!

I can’t wait to share the adventure of a second summer at Augusta with you all!
