Bella

Hello everyone! I’m Bella, or Bells, or Smelly Belly or absolutely anything you can think of EXCEPT Isabella
(that’s only for when I’m in trouble).

I am 22 and live in Melbourne Australia, which just in case you didn’t know is CRAZYYYYYY far away.
I am also at university studying education! More specifically, Biology and Psychology teaching which means I will happily talk your ear off about plants while also reading your mind… just kidding…(mostly).

This will be my first year as a camp counsellor and I am so ridiculously excited to meet you all!

I am in my third year of my degree and am absolutely loving it!

Not only do I get to meet the most amazing students in my placements, but I also get to teach them topics that I am so passionate about in the most fun and out-of-the-box ways I can think of. Next year I will graduate and eventually start teaching full-time, but for now, I cannot think of anything better than heading over to the other side of the world and spending a summer having the most fun with you guys at Camp Augusta!

Now I promise I’m not just coming all this way to skip Australian winter and get two summers in one year!
Which, let’s be honest is pretty cool. I am a teacher at heart, wanting to make a difference and be a support for every child I get the opportunity to work with. Whether that be through my telling of horrible dad jokes that are so awful you are forced to crack a smile, or through having me as your biggest, loudest, dorkiest support through challenging times. I aim to have you never forget me as that funny, kind and a little bit crazy Australian girl who helped you have the best summer ever.

When I am not at uni I am usually found…
– At the beach! I LOVE the beach. I love paddleboarding and looking for stingrays, jumping off piers, snorkelling, you name it.
– Finding a new hobby! One thing about me is that I love trying new things, this usually means I have a new hobby about once a month. At the moment it’s golf but last year I got into scrapbooking, tennis, puzzles, key chain making and pottery just to name a few.
– Spending time with my family! Whether that be teaching my little sister how to drive, suffering through whatever insane reality TV show my dad is obsessed with that week, or having my 21 cousins show up at my house on especially hot days for a swim in the pool, I am so grateful for the incredible family I have been lucky enough to have been born into.

Some facts about me!
– I have the best dog in the world. Like actually. He can even paddleboard! His name is Mac and he is the most perfect border collie EVER.
– I have a younger sister and brother who like to pretend like they don’t think I am the funniest person they have ever met but we all know that’s not true.
– My favourite movies are Mamma Mia and all the Harry Potter movies!
– Before being a camp counsellor I worked at a pyjama store and got to wear my pj’s to work every single day!
– I am constantly singing (usually badly) and most of the time it’s the completely wrong lyrics or a song I’ve just made up. I’m looking for singing buddies this summer to join me!
– My favourite meal is spicy noodles, And my favourite snack is fairy bread! Ask me about this at camp I may just tell you the secret Australian-only recipe.

I am so excited to meet you all and to get a brand audience for my terrible jokes! See you soon 🙂
