Ash

Ay up me duck or Hello to people who don’t speak Northerner.

My name is Ash

I be joining camp Augusta for the first time this summer as an expedition leader, (please don’t tease the new guy to much). I’m really excited it will be my first American adventure especially in California always dreamed of hiking threw the giant red woods tree. Traveling down the great rivers and riding a horse threw the American planes, just like a cowboy in old wild west. Hopefully that will initial me to have a Stetson hat at long last.

But stuff to know about me,

I’m a 29-year-old lad from Nottingham England, but I have not called England my home for many years. Because of my career as a outdoor instructor I have been able to work and live in 3 different contents and 6 different countries and travelled many more.

My love for history and adventure has always been my drive in life to meet many people and places, always wanting to see new things and try local food especially if it had high level of spice.

Through my life I have hiked many mountains and swam in my seas but my goal in life is being able see them all and explore them all. Such as my time hiking the Santiago Camino or going on a two week walk about in the Australian outback, or island hoping threw Indonesia on boats. That is main reason why became a Trained British Mountain leader and Advanced Padi Diver so I could turn my passion into my job.

But I think the best way to explain what makes me, “me” is like a recipe.

INGREDIENTS

6 cloves of silliness, finely grated

4 tsp. finely grated fantasy novels (Terry Pratchett for best flavour)

4 tsp. ground brightly coloured clothes

2 tsp. love for the desert (especially rolling down sand dunes)

2 tsp. love for the trees (for the smell they give)

2 tsp. love for the ocean (because of there strange creatures that lurks beneath them)

1½ cups of tea (a British stereotype I can’t avoid)

1 Tbsp. dyslexia

3 Tbsp. acting like a knight every time in a castle

1 small passion for computer strategy games, thinly sliced

¼ cup of tea with a couple of biscuits

6 history nerd pods, crushed

2 dried sense of humour

1 28-oz. can whole peeled love of food

2 cups of tea (again)

¾ cup discussing any subject that has the outcome going hmmmmm, plus sprigs for garnish

Steamed basmati rice (for serving)

This is also my recipe for a lovely chicken tikka masala one of my favourite curry.

I be looking forward to meeting you this summer and lets have a great summer of adventure.
