Hi Hi Hi! Im Starr! Thank you for taking the time to read my bio! Im extremely excited to be going into my third summer at Camp Augusta this year. For the past two summers I have had the shear pleasure of being an Oak village counselor and have made the most amazing campers with the WORLDS BEST campers and counselors. This year I will be stepping into a new role for me, the Oak Village Leader! Im over the moon of having my focus for this upcoming summer being on creating the most inclusive, inspiring, and unique experience for both the Oak village staff as well as the campers.
This is me my first year at camp killing the oatmeal fight.
In November I opened this store selling sticks and leaves under a playground, I was out of stock pretty quick it was so popular.
I was very lucky to get to travel while working a bit for Camp Augusta remotely this past off season. I left at the end of December for Israel!
This was me headed out of the USA!
My first stop was Israel where I was able to see most of the country! I saw the desert, the border with Syria, religious monuments from numerous faiths, and made great friends along the way!
I then had the pleasure of living in the Negev Desert of Israel in a spiritual community where I practiced mindfulness, yoga, and meditation daily. It was very enlightening for me!
I was then off to meet some of my fellow Augustans in the country I have always dreamed of visiting- INDIA! There we were able to get our Yoga Teacher Training Certifications and spend time in Northern, middle, and the southern coast of India. It was mind boggling to me how differently and similarly the people of our planet live to one another. I left feeling very humbled by all that I saw, received, and experienced in this gorgeous country.
I graduated Yoga school and came back to my parents house on the East Coast to spend some quality time with my family before driving out west to my other home at Camp Augusta. I am currently overjoyed to be living in the land of the wood chips again and my excitement grows daily as more and more staff members arrive and camp gets even more bursting with Wish, Wonder, and Surprise.
Camp Augusta for me, provides a play ground in which I can pursue my passions for the arts, the outdoors, and community. I cant wait to make new memories with each of you, hug new and old campers alike as they hop off the bus, and laugh each day that I am lucky enough to be here. WISHING YOU WERE HERE ALREADY!!!
