Swords? Pffft! Who could afford a sword in medieval times? A few knights and rich lords that’s who! The quarter staff was the weapon of the people, anyone could carve down a branch to a solid pole but learning how to wield it still takes the same degree of focus, discipline and skill. At Camp Augusta we have some very experienced instructors skilled in the art of this ancient form of combat. We issue helmets to all in the class and use long foam tipped staffs (yes, just like on American Gladiators but you’ll learn more guards, defensive and offensive moves).
