Best Ever Kyrah Recipe!
(Step by step with pictures)
Hello dear readers, and welcome to my cooking blog! Today I’m going to be sharing my recipe for creating a Kyrah (pronounced KEE-ruh)- sometimes called ‘Sunshine’! The steps are a bit complicated, but the end result is well worth the trouble! This is a bold and cheerful dish that you can make any time of year and change up with seasonal mix-ins. I like to add assorted music and geeky fandoms depending on what’s fresh, although my favorite variation is to put a splash of classic and punk rock and a bunch of ukulele music- I know, it sounds like a weird combo, but trust me the flavors totally work together! If you have any additions you think would go well with this recipe be sure to let me know so I can try it out 🙂 Now, without further ado, on to the steps!
Step 1- Take a fresh young Kyrah and place her in a large Jeffrey pine forest with an older sister to look up to, a younger brother to adventure with, and a splash of wild imagination. Let that marinate until you notice a flair for the dramatic starting to form. This is a very important step, as this is when many of the main flavors of the Kyrah are drawn out; her goofy sense of humor, love for nature, and enthusiasm for dressing up in costume all stem from this initial process. When she starts writing poems and songs, add a cup of creativity and a heavy pinch of curiosity. Stir well, then bake in the sun of a summer camp in California for 6 years.
Step 2- Remove from camp and place in a small mountain town to chill in the snow. In a separate container, combine one younger step sister, a skill for arts and crafts, and a love for working with younger kids, and mix until smooth.
Step 3- Stir the mixture and the Kyrah together in a High School over low heat, and add a hint of rebellious nature. The Kyrah will start to give off an aroma of artistic expression; she will write, bake, create, and perform more often than ever before, doing things like joining drama and poetry clubs, and playing music at local open mic nights. Her hair will also change very frequently throughout this step, sometimes turning extremely bright colors- not to worry! This is all part of the cooking process.
Step 4- Add a few handfuls of friendships. The strong ones will bind to the Kyrah and continually enrich the flavor and texture of the dish, while the more mild variety will impart all the lessons and memories they can before dissolving into the mix.
Step 5- Let simmer through graduation and a couple of part time jobs. Meanwhile, take 10 years of climbing on ropes courses, and gradually fold in 4 years of belaying and facilitating teambuilding and leadership development programs. Add to main mixture and stir until well combined.
Step 6- Transfer to a suitcase bound for Italy and mix with a wonderful host family and 3 months of tutoring in English. Although these ingredients can be challenging to acquire, they really transform the dish. Without this step there would be no taste of future travel plans, which is an essential part of properly prepared Kyrah.
Step 7- Bake everything together until the summer of 2018, and voila! It’s Kyrah!
Best served with a warm smile on the platter of Camp Augusta!
Notes about this dish-
Although the most common names for this dish are ‘Kyrah’ and ‘Sunshine’ it is also known by some as ‘Motormouth’ due to the fact that it can be quite talkative- and often quite loud as well! But don’t let that scare you off! This really is a friendly and caring dish, with lots of enthusiasm and love for life. And it pairs perfectly with a thirst for adventure! Can’t wait for you to give it a try 🙂
