(Please join me in singing the following songs, in your head, aloud, or on a stage in front of millions of screaming fans, whichever you wish)

(to the tune of Let It Be)

When I find myself in times of maturity,

The woods of Augusta sing to me.

There will be laughter, wait and see.

And in an hour of adulthood

The staff come to play with me;

Frolicking through the trees,

Be silly(eeeee).

Be silly, be silly.

Be silly, be silly.

Run with the horses,

And be free(eeee).

And when the bus pulls up the road,

I hear the campers cheering out,

“I’m gonna climb everything, watch me.”

At campfire we all throw sticks,

Excited for the week to come,

Let’s create some magic,

You and me(eeee)

Be silly, be silly,

Be silly, be silly.

Run with the horses,

And be free(eeee)

I was scared of heights and spiders.

I was scared of growing up and moving out,

Now all my dreams are coming true,

I get to spend a summer here with you!

With your zip lines and your crafts, I could be here all day.

I loved you, as a camper for five years, now I get to work here,

F                                     C                            C

And keep spreading my love of this place.

In these woods we can dance around.

We can felt animals, or learn to spin fire.

I can help you play the uke,

Then you can sing with me for campfire.

Oh youu, youuuu, youuu.

Ohhhhh you, and you’ve come to play!

HEEELLLLOOOO KIDDOS, ADULTS, KIDS AT HEART, AND ADULTS IN SPIRIT!  My name is Becca and I am a 2nd year junior counselor here at Camp Augusta.  I am born and raised in Sacramento, CA with my goofy sister Ellie and our two wonderful parents.  I grew up playing sports with Ellie and climbing trees with all my friends.  I began my adventure at Augusta like many of you as a camper nearly 8 years ago!  Wow, how time is flying by! I have watched this community grow and thrive with new additions (like the High Zip and Zip Tour, and all the new crafty clinics!).  I love to participate in the classic camp traditions — Lazy Dog, Wookies, and Oatmeal fights galore!  After five magical summers as a camper in these woods, I spent three weeks here in the CIRCLE program, during which I got my first taste of leadership.

This program inspired a new direction in my life, one towards promoting joy and exploring leadership.  The people I connected with offered support, and encouraged me to challenge myself outside of camp.  I expanded my horizons while applying to colleges, and explored the idea of being a leader through service opportunities and leading retreats.  Last summer I was a junior counselor and I spent part of my summer in the lovely village of Manzi, painting doors and swinging in the silks.  Then in August I packed up my bags and headed off to Whitman College (in the beautiful and silly town of Walla Walla, WA), where I am studying psychology with a possible minor in English.  My freshman year of college has been filled with challenging classes, wonderful friendships, and adventures in the Blues (a local mountain range!)

My hobbies include discussing Harry Potter, interpretive dancing to silence, adding to my felted zoo (my current project is a hippo), and drinking tea or coffee.  I love to talk about dogs, cats, the purpose of human existence, and what brings joy to each person.  This summer I am excited to goof around and get/stay messy! I am looking forwarding to an exciting and magical summer and I can’t wait to meet all of you!
